CHILD EDUCATION
CHILD RIGHTS
HEALTH AND HIV/AIDS

Child Rights Protection Program (CRPP):

Under this program, activities are geared towards creating more awareness of the importance of preserving the young, vulnerable generation and raising them up with respect, dignity and proper guidance.

We conduct advocacy meetings with various stakeholders at different levels to generate lasting solutions and draw policies which will protect the vulnerable children of Uganda.

Sensitization workshops and trainings are organized especially for the adult family heads and the youth. The organization plans to open up public hotlines to enable the public to directly report any cases of child abuse in their neighborhoods.

AVCR works closely with the legal and law enforcement organs in cases of recurring child abuse with incompliance.

Health and HIV/AIDS programme (HeHAP):

Under this thematic area, the organization focuses on carrying out community sensitizations on HIV/AIDS support, care and prevention including PMTCT, VCT, Positive Living advocacy, reproductive health and family planning, child survival, growth and development, gender based sexual violence.

This is believed that most of the orphans supported by the organization are as a result of HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence.

Child Education and Sponsorship Program (CESP):

Our intervention under CESP focuses on helping parents, guardians and care takers to do whatever it takes to ensure that the children in their care get access to education.

Despite scarcity of resources, AVCR has been able to support a few children with scholastic materials, a gesture that has instigated positive efforts to school enrollment.

AVCR plans to set up educational institutions; Pre Primary, Primary, Secondary and a Vocational, with a fully pledged disability section, clean water source, and health facility for the vulnerable children to effectively monitor their performance and provide high quality education.

AVCR believes in building the capacity of the family as the smallest unit to be able to sustain members over a long period of time. This is usually done through encouraging families to venture in to the entrepreneurship world for income generating activities.

FAMILY EMPOWERMENT

Before we do this however we ensure that these groups or individuals are given adequate basic training on business management skill and basic financial management skills, to enable them operate cost effective businesses.

Over the years, many families have found poultry, commercial farming, produce stocking and small retail businesses more rewarding and sustaining for a modest basic livelihood especially in the rural settings.
